The only Maybelline products that I've bought are their foundations, which are my all time favorites he moment. The quality is great, the prices are good, and like I said in my other review there was a wide variety of shades. So when I bought two of their Vivid Matte Lipsticks, both the same shade, I was expecting to get a reasonably priced matte lippie with "...Rich, intense lip color that glides on smooth with a matte finish" (Quote from the Maybelline site), but when I put it on I was Extremely Disappointed , and I'll tell you why.
When I first put it on I noticed that the product was showing up really patchy and light, so I put on layer after layer until I got it the way I wanted it, but I then noticed the sticky feeling it had on my lips and it just made my lips feel disgusting. When I was touching up my face I noticed a very strong floral scent coming from my lips .It didn't smell good but it didn't smell bad either , just really strong. I didn't want give up on the product just yet, so I waited for the lipstick to dry (I waited for a long time). When it did finally get matte half of it transferred right to my fork during breakfast, and at that point I gave up the lipstick and just wore it like it was. At the end of my 7 hour school day my lips were so dry, busted, and disgusted. My lips were so dry I was able to peel off my actual lip, because it had become dead skin. I was not impressed with this "matte" lipstick. I tried to work with it and I just couldn't. I wastes $10.00 (I bought 2 ) and I didn't want to give these away, because that's just messed up. I would give this lipstick a 2 out of 5 . The color was somewhat nice but everything else gets 2 thumbs down. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I'd rather you guys just pay extra $10 maybe even more for a high quality lippe that won't transfer, has a nice subtle scent, and is actually matte. Leaving this review on a good note my first Ipsy glam bag has finally shipped and I can't wait to show you guys all my new goodies. I'll hopefully be getting it on the tenth no later than the twentieth. I'm thinking about doing a unwrapping video but I'm not sure yet we'll see. Also the review calendar is up and now you can see What I'll be doing, what days they should be posted and all that jazz! Last thing don't forget to follow me on Instagram and share my blog the links are down below I'll try to make them more notice able.I hope this review help you guys God blessed and stay proud! not only do the Maybelline foundations have a wide range of shades, but The Fit Me foundations are one of my favorites. The coverage is great,it feels light on the face, and you get a nice smooth finish. The darkest shade in this collection is 360 (cappuccino), which is what I'm wearing. You can see I have swatched it on the palm of my hand since it blended so well on my skin and you can see how it looks on my face.
I think the only con is that if you have really oily skin, like me,the oil will seep through a little. A quick fix for that would be to wash your face before applying and putting on a matte setting spray. The overall rating I give this product would be a 4 1/2 out of 5 in being dark skin friendly. Even if you don't get the matte pore less there are a lot more foundations to choose from. Finally a new announcement I will be setting up a calendar for when I blog, what products I'll be reviewing, and all that jazz. I hope I helped you guys in choosing foundation. stay proud and have a blessed. This review is going to be shorter than the others, because I think you guys already know the 411 on these pro concealers/corrector. I finally got my hands on two of these babies and I have to say they did not disappoint. I'm not really a concealer type of gal, but let me tell you the moment I put on that concealer I knew there was no turning back Also the ranges of shades are endless, so you can find your contour, highlight, and concealer shade for only $15 depending on where you go.
When I first put on the corrector I could tell already that it was going to work like a charm. The orange corrector evened out my hyper-pigmented skin and I couldn't see any more of my acne scars. Then the concealer really brightened up my face without making it oily or making my face look cakey. The concealer covered up the deep dips on my under eye, which made my face look smoother . For something that is considered "drug store" makeup,it really felt and looked like high end. I really do love this product the prices are reasonable.less actually means more with this product I'm not having to pay an arm and a leg for a small container of concealer that really doesn't last me,which is amazing. I give the L.A. girl pro concealer a 5 out 5. I really do recommend this product for women of color. you guys and find the right shades you need for the the right price, and it's great quality that's a triple whammy right there . WElcome to my blogHadassah WinstonHello everyone this is a new blog that I've created for beauty, but not just any kind of beauty, this blog focuses on black beauty. I really love looking at beauty blogs that do reviews on different products, but the one problem I did see when looking at these blogs is that they are only targeted for lighter people. It's really hard to figure out what brands are good for women of color, what nude would go with our lips, or what eye-shadow is pigmented enough for our skin. Not everyone has the time to go to the store and try on testers all day. Most women shop online for their brands, so they rely on product reviews. My blog will hopefully help women of color with finding the right brands of make up that compliments our skin tone. If you want to know more about me you can look on my about me page, and if you want to talk about being an admin or just giving me info on what you want to see on this blog then click on contacts. Hope you all have a blessed day, stay proud, and again welcome to my blog.
